Parent Effectiveness Training is the most researched, evidence based, best practices, model for raising responsible, caring, and respectful children of all ages. The P.E.T. course is the grandfather of most parenting programs, and conflict resolution courses, presently offered at universities and colleges around the world. Attachment between parent and child is enhanced by learning the skills in this 8 week course. P.E.T. provides families with confidence, healthy self esteem, emotional intelligence, open communication, problem solving skills, assertiveness, empathy and increased co-operation in their lives together. Our Attachment
Parenting Organization Encourages the following:
Making commitments to both marriage and
quantity-time parenting.
Freely
giving time and attention to get to know and understand our children.
Mutual
respect between parent and child.
Empathic Parenting rather than Calendar Parenting style.
Responding
to child's expressed and hidden needs, while meeting parents' needs.
Accepting
the child's own readiness for independence.
Practicing
non-violent, non-punitive discipline that connects parent and child.
Long-term
breastfeeding if possible, and child-led weaning.
Responding
to a child’s distress when upset, sick, or hurt.
Flexible
sleeping arrangements and night-time parenting.
Traveling
and recreation as a family unit.
Communication
that connects relationships.
Fun, play,
learning and laughing in the family relationship.
Physical
non-sexual closeness that respects personal boundaries.
Attachment
Education as much as possible in the public system, private system or at
home.
We do not pretend to be parenting
experts. However, we believe that most parents, given some knowledge of child
development, intuitively know what their children need, and how best to meet
those needs.We provide a supportive
environment for discussion of these issues. We encourage every parent to
practice Attachment Parenting as much as possible within each
family situation in order to experience fulfilling, nurturing, close, and
connecting love relationships with their children.
